Vietnamese Weding Tea Ceremony Bride and Groom Recieve Gifts From Parents

Phi and Vy’s Vietnamese Wedding Day was exquisite and magical! The day began with Phi and his family going toward the bride’s house, greeting Vy and her family with trays of food and gifts.

Vietnamese Wedding: The Beginning of The Day

The traditional Vietnamese Tea Ceremony occurred in Vy’s Parents’ living room. The room was filled with both Vy and Phi’s families asking permission from the families and ancestors to permit the marriage.

We then headed to the Catholic Church in Minneapolis, which Vy grew up attending for their Catholic Ceremony. Phi and Vy arrived in front of the church in the elegant style of a black stretch limo, and the Ceremony was truly beautiful, with Vy and Phi exchanging vows.

After a short lunch back at Vy’s family’s home, the couple headed to Boom Island Park to take Wedding Party and Couples photos in the park. It was a perfect summer day with clear skies.

A Festive Reception Celebration

However, the Vietnamese Wedding day didn’t end there as Vy and Phi headed over to Midpointe Event Center in St. Paul, where all their family and friends awaited their arrival. The reception was full of joy and happiness as Phi and Vy visited each table with their parents in a tradition called chào bàn, where they greet all their guests and thank them for coming, and guests give well wishes and play games. The reception was full of amazing food, Karaoke, and dancing. It was truly an amazing night of celebration.

Being Vietnamese Wedding Videographers, we have the honor of witnessing various ceremonies and traditions. The Vietnamese Tea Ceremony is one of our favorites. The couple shows respect by serving tea while their friends and family give advice about marriage, and wish them well.

Phi and Vy and their families were truly hospitable throughout the day, ensuring we had everything we needed to document their wedding day fully, and always ensuring we had a plate of food to keep our stomachs full and happy.
