Every time we film at a new space, we look for the little things that make a venue feel special. This spring, during our styled shoot at The Confluence Hotel in Hastings, we found ourselves thinking about how many couples must ask the same question before booking: Is The Confluence Hotel a good wedding venue? After spending the day creating with an incredible vendor team, watching the snow fall softly in the courtyard, and filming along the riverfront, the answer felt very clear.
Yes. It is a beautiful place to get married, and here is why couples love it.
One of the first things you notice about The Confluence is its location. The Hotel gets its name from its location near the meeting point, or confluence, of the Mississippi, Vermillion and St. Croix Rivers, giving you peaceful water views and soft natural light from morning to night. Even on the day of our styled shoot, when a surprise overnight snowfall dusted the courtyard in white, the river created a stunning backdrop for the bright, playful florals inside.
If you have been wondering Is The Confluence Hotel a good wedding venue for riverfront ceremonies, the setting alone might convince you. It feels like a quiet retreat, even though you are close to everything in Hastings.
From a videography perspective, the light here is a dream. The river reflects beautifully, the colors stay rich, and every angle feels cinematic without ever trying too hard.

One of the things that makes The Confluence Hotel so special is that its modern style is rooted in real history. The building once housed the H.D. Hudson Manufacturing Company and much of the original character is still part of the space today. When you walk inside, you can feel that connection. The restored woodwork, exposed steel beams, and industrial textures give the hotel a sense of depth that you just do not find in newer venues.
It is the perfect blend of past and present. You get the warmth of a historic riverfront building paired with an elevated boutique hotel experience. The spaces feel polished and refined, but they never lose the charm that ties back to Hastings and its roots along the Mississippi.
During our styled shoot, that mix of industrial and modern was the perfect backdrop for the bold florals and playful design. Teal orchids, one-color bouquets, custom paper details, and an incredible head table all felt right at home in the space. The architecture framed everything beautifully without overpowering it.
If you want a venue with character and clean, editorial lines that look amazing on film, The Confluence hits that sweet spot. It is comfortable, elevated, and truly one of a kind.

One of the biggest things couples love about The Confluence Hotel is how easy the day feels. You can get ready onsite, hold your ceremony and reception in the same building, walk down to the river for portraits, and celebrate with your guests without juggling transportation or tight timelines.
Everything connects naturally, which means you get more time to relax and actually enjoy your wedding. This always shows up in your final film. Couples look calmer. Families feel more comfortable. The whole day moves gently from one moment to the next.
If you care about your wedding day feeling smooth and stress free, this venue makes that possible.
Whether you picture yourself exchanging vows outdoors by the river or want the security of an indoor ceremony space, The Confluence gives you both. The courtyard is gorgeous in every season and even looked magical with fresh March snow during our shoot. Inside, the ceremony and reception spaces are clean, elegant, and easy to customize.
Minnesota weather can be unpredictable. Having a venue that supports your vision indoors and outdoors is a huge advantage.
Styled shoots are always a great test of how well a venue supports vendor creativity. The Confluence made it easy for every vendor to shine.
Some standout moments from our shoot:
The space adapts well to any design. Classic, bold, modern, romantic. It all works here.
